Each time I look at the photos they challenges me to reflect on the environment and the opportunities we offer children. To think about why we do what we do, and to understand the complexites of using the environment as the third teacher. Thanks for sharing a small part of your incredible professional learning. Would love to hear back from you in 6 months or so time, to reflect on the possible changes to your thinking and pratice. Hope to meet you at the conference next month. Amelia answered a question about how projects can be worked with under three year olds. She is amazed that this question comes up all over the world. She believes everything that is investigated for older children can be with the younger children. She has a strong belief in the "Rights" of infants, just because they have no language they can still "talk" with clay, paint and drawing tools. She says "give them the tools they need". Infants are ready, not needy. Reggio Emilia schools are from Birth to Six. We will invite all teachers, parents and adults who work with children from birth to six and older to come to "The Hundred Languages of Children". There will be something for everyone.
